Eco-Community is enriched at it's greatest depths, in the presence, openness, stillness and reverent communion with Nature in and around us....and takes only a moment to inform us through our most authentic communication relationship, the senses. Then, the most treasured of all relationships emerges.....within that resonance with Sensory Earth Consciousness....and brings the realization of our inherent being into our stream of thought and creativity once again.....no longer cloaked by the dominant veils of thought and reasoned abstractions and stories, which hide it's profound love. What are the authentic roots that connect our awareness with the Natural world in and around us? In our cultural and social context, we are bombarded with human-centered languages, media and technologies that have habituated us to abstract interpretations of who we are and our relationship with the Earth and Universe. With such abstract language and conditioning, we have created one of the most destructive habits of all; dualism. Good/bad, positive/negative, and the list is nearly endless. Nature has no dualism...no good or bad. A Rattle Snake is not evil/bad because it uses venom to stop it's prey and nourish itself in the Web of Life. We project these abstract interpretations upon Nature and in so doing, devalue our inborn sensory intelligence and self-organizing relationship with it.
The Earth-Consciousness Program facilitates Direct Sensory Explorations into the greater Earth-Consciousness of which we are a part. We are born with at least 53 distinctly unique, yet interrelated senses that inform our consciousness and cognitive abilities as one species among many in this Universe. In this Program, we will explore ever more deeply the Web of Life in which we are a part, and facilitate a deeper valuing of our inherent relationship, collective intelligence and consciousness with all Nature. At the beginning of this New Earth Cycle, let us create a Community in Communion with Nature, through healing our relationship with the Planet we call Home.

Dan Shelton grew-up working on a small family farm in Southern Illinois and createdEarth Consciousness& Ecostery Communities out of a vision he had at age 8, while standing on a bluff overlooking a field and distant woods. Since this vision, he has worked at educating himself through both academics and direct experience with Nature, shaping and focusing his offerings on helping people rediscover their human & nature relationship. He is an educator, facilitator, consultant and guide, with a doctoral degree in the science of Applied Ecopsychology and Integrated Ecology. Dan has over 20 years of experience in helping people rediscover the peace found in their inborn relationship with Nature. Dan is dedicated to enhancing interests and increasing the well-being of his audience. Dan's work in Reconnecting people with Nature is experiential, stress reducing and healing. He has been awarded the “Rudy Mancke Award” for outstanding service in environmental education through the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission.
